22nd Annual African Nova Scotian Artist Showcase and Awards
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia – The African Nova Scotian Music Association (ANSMA) are proud to announce the 22nd Annual African Nova Scotian Artist Showcase and Awards. The show is brought to you by TD and Eastlink. We will be celebrating Black History Month and giving a special tribute to the “The Spirit of Africville” featuring guest performance by Joe Sealy and Faith Nolan. The event will be held on Saturday, February 29th, 2020 at Alderney Landing Theatre in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia – 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The nominees who have made submissions in the following categories are:

Emerging Artist or Group of the Year Rising Star or Group of the Year Artist/Group of the Year

As in the past, there will be 5 other awards. The winners of these awards are:

  • Heritage Award - Anne Johnson-MacDonald
  • Pioneer Award - Johnathan (Wally) Smith, Jr.
  • Lifetime Achievement Award - Joe Sealy
  • Industry Development Award - George Bordon
  • Portia White Youth Award - Zoe Tolliver
