Keynote Presenters:
Nene Kwasi Kafele - Nene is widely recognized for his work in youth leadership, equity, anti-oppression, community development and social and economic justice in Toronto and Ghana, where he is Manoyam Matse (Chief of Development) responsible for the welfare of close to 200,000 youth. He has written and researched extensively on African spirituality, mental health and race, and holistic wellness.
Marcus James - Marcus has worked at the North Branch Library for 23 years, where he is dedicated to supporting Black youth and speaking up when communities are in need. He is an advocate for social change and the betterment of African Nova Scotian communities, especially with regard to the Justice system. He is a candidate for the African Nova Scotian seat in the upcoming Halifax Regional School Board election.
