The Town of Antigonish invites the community to join in a public Emancipation Day event to commemorate the abolition of slavery and honour the contributions and resilience of people of African descent. This gathering will include cultural performances, a civic proclamation, and opportunities for reflection and celebration. Everyone is welcome to attend this meaningful event held in partnership with local organizations.
