French Immersion in Public Schools has played a major role in promoting and preserving French Language and French Culture in our Public Schools.  Without such grounding, Francophone students would face significant challenges in the education system.  Our illustrious panelists; Wendy Poitras M.Ed., Karen Hudson M.Ed., Dr. Barb Hamilton-Hinch and Delvina Bernard, M.Ed., Ph.D. (Can) will discuss and debate the need for Africentric Immersion in public education as a tool for African Nova Scotian Learners to thrive.

We will discuss what Africentric Immersion could look like in  Elementary School, High School, University level and Life-Long Learning.  The Panelists will also explore what the potential tenets of an Africentric Immersion program should be and how it could be implemented through a partnership between school, community and the Department of Education.
