Africa Night 2016 is roaring into life Saturday 26th March 2016, at the Saint Marys University. Africa Night is about celebrating Africa and its myriad of cultures through dance, music and enjoying the best of African cuisine. This year’s Africa Night is promising to be the most elegant and it will draw not only people of African decent but also the cosmopolitan population of Saint Mary’s University, Halifax and all of Nova Scotia. Over the years Africa Night has received massive support from the generous people and businesses in Halifax and this support continues grow.

The theme for this year is titled, “UBUNTO:ABANRU, I AM BECAUSE WE ARE” presenting all 5 regions of rich Africa culture, and embrace their African identities and heritage. This celebration of Africa is to educate the world about the diverse culture and to celebrate the end of African heritage month. For further information visit the Saint Mary’s African Society Facebook page.

SMASS has taken on a project to drill a well in Sierra Leone for an orphanage housing children who lost their parents from Ebola. All revenue we generate this year will be channelled to this project.
