Black Ice Hockey and Sports Hall of Fame (BIS) is organizing a 2 day hockey event that will see the U20 Jamaican Olympic Ice Hockey Federation send a team to Halifax to play 2 games, May 13th and 14th at the Dartmouth Sportsplex. There will be an all-star squad of players from Nova Scotia who are currently playing Major Junior, Junior ‘A” and Major Midget. The May 13th game will see the Jamaican U20’s play a group of prominent players from a diverse background, former pro players, community leaders, etc.
The weekend event is meant to celebrate and promote hockey within marginalized communities which has been an initiative of the BIS organization and its programs. The event also promotes the value and necessity of diversity and inclusion.
