This project is a collaborative effort led by Delmore Buddy Daye Institute (DBDI), Health Association of African Canadians (HAAC), Promoting Leadership in African Nova Scotian Health (PLANS) and other partner organizations, we are presenting a one-day youth educational workshop, Theme: “Hangout: Empowering African Canadian Youth Through Education and Healthy Habits”.
Our aim is to target one hundred youth from the communities to attend this workshop. The overarching goal of our workshop is to adapt an Afro-centric, youth-centred approach to youth health and well-being within the social determinant of health framework that explores pertinent issues and provide options for living well as educated people. Our workshop aims to facilitates the mobilization of community youth resources, builds capacity among youth within their extended communities and celebrate success.
