The Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission was established in March, 1967. To mark the 50th anniversary -- and to further engage Nova Scotians in a meaningful discussion about human rights and issues of equity -- Dalhousie University's School of Social Work will host this one-day conference. Leading human rights professionals, students, advocates, and members of the public will come together to critically review what we have learned, and to evaluate how effective we have been in challenging and changing long-standing patterns of discrimination. All are invited to join us after the conference for a reception in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the School of Social Work.
